Working in Dubai can be compared to working in any big city worldwide. Dubai is very cosmopolitan; everyone works hard and plays hard - the opportunities are endless. What’s more, there is no income tax, and in many cases you receive a housing allowance, private medical insurance, an annual flight home and 30 days leave.

Commuting usually takes only 15 minutes and most companies provide modern office environments with impressive views, some even with a sea-view. The official language in Dubai is Arabic although English is widely spoken. Most multi-national companies have or are moving their regional operations to become a part of this prosperous city’s rapid development.

Visas
Employment and Residency Visas are required to live and work in the city. The employers handle the processing of all the necessary documents including the accreditation of your university certificates. You will need a blood check before employment and residency is granted – this is usually done in Dubai.

Working hours
9:00am-5:30pm with a Thursday/Friday or Friday/Saturday weekend (Multi-nationals normally have a Friday/Saturday weekend).

Annual Leave
30 days annual paid leave.

Business Districts
The prominent business districts include Sheikh Zayed Road, Dubai Internet City, Dubai Media City and Knowledge Village, although more are being built, including the Dubai International Financial Centre and Dubai Healthcare City.
